Windows 7 is an operating system made by Microsoft which was launched in 2009. So far, there have been several versions of Windows 7, and even one of these versions has reached SP1 (Service Pack 1). Just like other versions of Windows, Windows 7 is also available in various versions, namely Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate.

From these several versions, most computer or laptop users choose Windows 7 Ultimate. Because this version is considered the most complete of the other versions. Then are you curious about the differences that exist in each version of Windows 7? By knowing what the differences are between these versions of Windows 7, it will make it easier for you to choose the best version to use on your computer or laptop. Here are the differences of each version of windows 7:

1. Windows 7 Starter

     Targeted worldwide, usually comes pre-installed when buying a new computer. The main features for this version are Taskbar, Jump list, Windows MEdia Player, Backup & restore, Action Center, Device Stage, Play to, Fax you Scan and Simple Game. The weakness of this version is that there is no Aero glass, various desktop modification features, windows touch, media center, live thumbnail preview, home group creation, no multi-language, maximum 2GB RAM and no 64bit version available. If using the Starter version the user cannot change the desktop background. Users can also only run 3 programs at once, but this limitation has been removed and replaced with a maximum of 2 GB of RAM.

2. Windows 7 Home Basic

    This version is targeted for certain regions such as Indonesia. The main features of this version are Multiple monitors, fast user switching (change users), desktop wallpaper, desktop windows manager, network printing, internet connection sharing, some windows aero. The weakness of this version is that it cannot create a new Homegroup, does not include a DVD decoder (MPEG-2 and Dolby Digital), no multi touch, premium games, Windows Media center, no Multi-language, Windows Aero support is not full.

3. Windows 7 Home Premium

    Targeted for users all over the world. The main features of this version are Aero Glass, Aero Background, Windows Touch, Creating a new Home group, Media Center, DVD Playback and creation, premium games and Mobility Center. The weakness of this version is that it cannot do Domain joins, Remote desktop hosts, network backups, Encryption File System, Offline Folders.

4. Windows 7 Professional

    Designed for experts in the IT field. The main features of this version are Windows XP Mode, Domain Join, Remote desktop host, location aware printing, mobility center, presentation mode, offline folder. The weakness of this version is the absence of BitLocker, BitLocker toGo, AppLocker, Direct Access, Branche Cache, MUI Language Pack, booting from VHD. The advantages of the Professional version are almost the same as the Ultimate version, in general only the BitLocker function is removed.

5. Windows 7 Enterprise

    This version is designed for business people or a company with a Volume License. The main features of this version are BitLocker, BitLocker To Go, AppLocker, Direct Access, Branche Cache, MUI language packs, boot from VHD.

6. Windows 7 Ultimate

    Designed for computer users who want all the features of Windows 7. This version has all the features of the previous version, you could say Windows 7 Ultimate version is the most complete version.
